Kohler KT17 carburetor adjustment

Finally got to replace the fuel pump on my 7117. Runs better, but still wanted to be fully choked to stay running. Started messing with the adj on the carb and got it to run and start OK and I was able to get it off the choke. Can anyone tell me the correct procedure for starting from scratch with carburetor adjustments? Also the best place to get service manual/info for a 17 hp Kohler? Thanks very much.

1½ to 2 turns on inital adjustment to get running then fine tune when hot.
