Roy 0 Posted January 4, 2006 Didn't like the box I put on the tractor when it was new so I made another one. Per UCD's suggestion I checked with the local paint & body store for some thread inserts. Theygave me four inserts. Love small towns and local shops. Installed two thread inserts, made a bracket to mount on the seat, made two pieces for the box, and put it all together. Works good. Just what I wanted. Note the recycled washing machine part, water hose reel hanger bracket, and Rubbermaid cereal box with removable lid. "Ole What's Her Name" donated the box without being aware of it. All materials were found in my shop junk/supplies. Pictures below: Old box: Seat mounting bracket: New removable box (clips onto seat bracket): Seat tilts up without removing the box. MPH 12 Posted January 4, 2006 So you think 'ole whats her name' might reconize your new tool box? Got the fresh straw in the dog house yet? Looks good though. Will it hold the tools in if you tip the seatpan back?
comet66 0 Posted January 5, 2006 That looks like it's gonna work real well. If I stole tupperware out of the kitchen around here, the next tractor I saw would be etched on my marker, along side RIP.
Roy 0 Posted January 5, 2006 Marty, No. Have to remove the box before tipping the seat pan up/back. Box drops onto the seat bracket with a "U" shape on the box bracket. Got away with stealing the box. She didn't mind. :D John, You gotta know how to negotiate these deals when you get caught. :)
