23d Ring Thickness

Does anyone know where I might find the specs on piston ring thickness? I have found information on a slightly larger piston than the odd piston that I have, but I need to know the ring thickness, as the piston is available, but the rings with it are steel. I want chrome rings, and will likely have to go to the automotive world to find them. I can't do that witout knowing what the thickness will be. The actual piston is for a 240000 series engine, and standard is a 3.0625, only slightly larger than the one I have, and I can bore it with a cylinder hone that far, as it will basically be a cleanup past the ring wear. All catalogs at the part stores simply show a part number, with no specifications. Any help will be appreciated.

Try here and ask if he has/can get oversized rings for the briggs piston you have. He has standard-size chrome listed for the 23D. He should know. He helped me finding alternative/crossover ignition parts for my obsolete economy tractor. http://www.briggs.learnsmallenginerepair.com/pistonrings.htm 2466 $32.90 $16.99 3" 298746 STD 191400,193401,200401,231401,233401, series.23D, 23C. 8Hp.and 9 Hp.
