To the junk yard. It was a deal I made with the wife to keep the peace. I brought home a F450 Dump truck. I negotiated to just dump some of the steel that was hanging around out back to make her happy. No Simp or AC items. I have to build myself a big shed or small barn to avoid these unfortunate occourences in the future...

The bad part is some of that could have gone onto E-bay to turn some cash. Looks like 2 plows and I think part of a sears #pt hitch under the tractor. But I also know the powers of a aggervated wife and compromising. James K.

WWWWWWHHHHAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTT!!! Junk yard??? How long have you been married? The way it would work around here would be as follows. Honey I hate to get rid of all this but I will get it on E-Bay and I can use the money to help pay for the ford F450 dump truck. Or Honey I hate to get rid of all this but I will get it on E-Bay and I can use the money to take you out for a nice dinner and dancing in a couple of weeks. #1 I hate dancing #2 I would rather eat at the local coney island #3 I would sell some things and let her have some cash from it for her scrapbooking habit.

:o) I knew I'd get a few reactions. I was fishing for them:D. Honestly folks, there wasn't much here. The load was pretty deceiving. Because its been so long since I've posted I Figured I'd make this posting at least a bit interesting. Here's the run down; I do have almost 20 things being Ebay'd now. From experience, I know what will move and what doesn't. So, the condition of the Ariens and Custom 10 Sears represents what doesn't. The Ariens has been limped along mowing my lawn for three years now and is comprised of three donor machines (one of which I bought on ebay for $50 three years ago). The engine is beyond tired now. I know that either machine could have been pieced out further and perhaps brought in a couple small $'s at a show, provided I house them here and shlepped them later (which I don't have the desire or luxury to do anymore with two little ones). There was nothing related to a three point hitch going to the dump. What you saw may have been a front axle from a SS12, a broken chainsaw, a tattered seat pan, Suburban fenders or other relatively worthless junk that has travelled with me from show to show unsold. The plows were of very insignificant value if any. One was a modified craftsman for a tractor I had years ago, and the other was a crapped out Suburban plow that had been cut and welded so much it deserved a reincarnation. The Custom 10 rims would have brought a couple bucks at a show but again, I wanted to clear out around here and I had another plan[:0]. During the discussion with my wife I took an honest appraisal of the back yard. I knew the junk pile was getting too high because I was starting to feel like Fred Sanford. Even though I absolutely love junk I had to come up with some $ to get the Dump truck registered and roadworthy. As many people here know, much of my wheeling and dealing has been in order to obtain higher quality items of more substantial use. In my original post with this thread, I didn't mention that I picked up a perfect replacement seat for the Dump at the bone yard for little $ because the load was taken into consideration as a partial trade. The seat has no rips, worn spots, stains or anything. It is even the same color as the original. In final analysis I couldn't have liquidated this load and had enough to come close to reupolstering and refoaming the horrible seat I had started out with. Just as important, no really meaningful brand name parts were destroyed in the name of the almighty buck. Were talking scap steel not Simp/AC/WH/Cub, etc, etc... Regarding Ebay liquidation of parts; Tonight I moved a few things I had laying around and generated enough cash to register the truck. I still have open auctions with bids that are ending tomorrow so I'll have some more $ to invest in repairs and improvements. All in all there really is a method to my madness and in truth I never "trashed this load". I only used it to barter my way upward in my quest to soothe my tractoritis condition. I plan to get some before and after pictures of the Dump truck and share them later on. I'll also upload and reveal the machine I plan to pull with it. Step by step I'm getting ready to be able to do bigger projects and it all started here learning about my first 725. Many thanks to all the Simpletractors members I've met and befriended along the way:).
