Did anyone else go to the Alburn, Indiana indoor tractor show this weekend.I spotted this new item for Miller tires.

I talked to the rep. and he said these tires are exclusive for them. They actually helped design the tire and had to pay to get the molds for it. They say firestone right on the tire and are very heavy compared to a similar size tire. The price is per tire. This is on my "gotta have someday" list but I'm hoping other companies will follow along and drive prices down to a more reasonable number. Dan

While I didn't go to the show I did spot them on E-bay and after a year or so of having a front tire be flat when I wanted to use that particular tractor I broke down and bought a set of these. I was in the process of mounting them tonight and stopped because one of the old tires fought me while dismounting it. I had thought about posting a story on the tires but you've beat me to the punch (LOL). They are very heavy and I'm very curious to see how much of an improvment (or not) they will be over the original style Goodyears. The last time I used the tractor I was using the brush cutter in some deep leaves and what not and having a difficult time getting it to steer where I wanted it. Hopefully I'll get to try them out in the next few days.:p

I looked real close at them about 4 times but just couldn't part with that much cash right then. Let us now how they work Reed

Reed, a pic or two when you get them mounted and on the tractor would be great. I am very interested to see how they would look and work. They are a four ply tire and I'm thinking they may work good for a loader tractor. Dan

I had the same thought when I spotted them on ebay. I'm thinking my problem though may switch from one of steering,to one of sinking in the softer earth around here. A pair of these combined with rear ags on the blower tractor in the winter would sure take care of the steering, and chain scrapping problem on the cement though.

That's just great. After finding the skinnier wheel and cleaning them so I could put tri-ribs on the front you go and post this. If I only would have waited 3or4 months it may have been cheaper to just get these tires instead of finding the wheels and tires. I searched and didn't find this size 6 mos. ago. Question is will they have the 6" for my Broadmoor when the time comes.

I was thinking about buying another set of the 3.50x8 tri-ribs. Now I see these. I look at the price. I am thinking about buying another set of the 3.50x8 tires again. These 16x6.50x8 tires are more than double the price of the narrow tri-ribs. A little too much for my taste, especially when I have extra wheels for both sizes.

Not sure what year Broadmoor you have but they already have tri rib tires for the older broadmoor tractors (pre 1975) with the narrow stud type tires...Tucker tire has them and so does Rustybore on Ebay..they are the 3.50 x 6 and the 4.00 x 6 sixe..

Comet, at my home I have mostly gravel or cement. I also live at the top of a hill so the ground drys out pretty quick. I have already rolled my lawn once this year in hopes of getting on it before it's too hard to do any good. Rod, I agree with you on the price, that's why I hope other companys will also start making this size to drive the price down. I would definitly want to see a set mounted and on a tractor before I would spend that much money. Dan

Thanks Kevin. I have not searched for them yet, but had not seen them looking for these 8". I do have older Broadmoor's with the stud tires.

Well I've got one tire mounted waiting for paint to dry before I mount the second one. I literally had to beat up the old Goodyear before it gave up. So for now I'll post a pic or 2 of the one that is ready to go.:p Hopefully I'll get the other one mounted later tonight, gotta go for now dinner calls.......

I would love to see a shot of the tire/ rim combo without the weight if it's possible, maybe from a few feet away to get and idea of what it looks like on the tractor. Thanks for the pics, you know how we all like pics! Dan
