2burning Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Aren't some of the sickle mowers for the B-1's shorter or something and hit on the wider tires of newer machines? I think someone had a post out here about that and they made some extenders or something. I can't find it now...
Mack Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Had the same problem awhile ago. http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=48972&SearchTerms=sickle,

Guest Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Elon, How did you mount the chain to your starter? Is it bolted or is there a quick release?
Jonnysac Posted April 26, 2006 Author Posted April 26, 2006 I got it fixed. THANKS for everyones help.I made this bracket and it worked out good.
D-17_Dave Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 The short chain hooks to a small bracket the fastens hard to the frame. This keeps the mower gear section from dropping down to low should you cross a dip or hole. The lever lifts the mower up over/around obsticles and the long chain hod the bar up for transport. I'm not sure what if any diff. there might be in the early and late model sickle mowers but the longer wheel base might be pushing the mid-pto back farther makeing the standard belt not reach. Also these models were never made when a wide front tire tractor was so the tire width may have something to do with the tire hitting mounted on your tractor. But if your happy with the bracket you've made then run it and enjoy. Glad you got it up and running.
Jonnysac Posted April 27, 2006 Author Posted April 27, 2006 Thanks Dave I need all the Info. I can get to make them right. THANKS!!!!!!!
