B.Ikard Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 My 11 yr old daughter has been hounding me about wanting to cut grass so this followed me home Monday. It's green....I know.....but it's actually pretty clean except the seat, and appears to be low hour. No smokes/knocks (11 hp Briggs), just an oil leak at the crankcase breather. I felt she could handle this pretty well, plus I don't want her to use my orange tractors just yet:D Brent
Killer_A-C Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Neat little starter tractor. Cant never have to much help mowing. Remember to make her wear hearing protection,Matt
cwm1276 Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Good use for the Deere, training practice for the real tractors.
GWGAllisfan Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Nice to start with. She'll be on those Simplicities before you know it. Maybe a FDT to start with.....If my sister couldn't break one, I don't think anyone could:D
B.Ikard Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 Randy, Well this is going to be a birthday present (Jun 29) so I have plenty of time to look it over. Kinda nice to kill 2 birds with one stone-a birthday gift that is useful to me !!
HubbardRA Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Brent, "GREEN", "YELLOW", Oh, hurts my eyes!! You need to paint it a nice soothing color like "Bright Reddish Orange". Get your daughter accustomed to the correct color, right from the start. LOL Good way to start her off. Both my boys started mowing the lawn at an early age. Just couldn't seem to get my daughter interested. Of course, now she and her fiancee have a contract with a subdivision of townhouses to cut the grass. This is going to be her supplimental income as she goes back to school to work on her BA degree starting this summer. Unfortunately they just bought one of those green and yellow things to do the mowing with, got it from TSC. Can we all say "Boxstore"?
comet66 Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 quote:Originally posted by Killer_A-C Remember to make her wear hearing protection,Matt And dark glasses so she won't have to be too embarassed when seen on it.:D:D Hey it's a good place to start, not too much power, and all the limbs stay up in the clear.
2burning Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 My oldest daughter ran over our blow up swimming pool the first time she was on a green and yellow machine! : Those rear engine riders have really good traction, visibility, and easy steering. That looks like a nice machine even though it is green!
