Leaking Vickers Hydro on 314H

I have a leaking hydro on my AC 314H. It is difficult to determine exactly where the problem is coming from but I intend to raise the tractor again and look under it? Any advice from members who have dealt with this issue would be appreciated. Thanks, Rick Carter

Look closely at the hoses for dry rot and a seeping leak. However it's most likely the "Pintle" or input shaft where the linkage from the speed control lever goes into the houseing. This is the common weaker point on these hydro's. After so many years of use the bushing wears and the O-ring sealing the input shaft goes to leaking when the engine is running. This makes a mess and continues to drip after the tarctor is shut off.

Yep that's where my Vickers is leaking as well. One of the members here had some re-bushed houseings for sale but mine's not that bad yet and so far inflation has not raised the price of Dextron too much. Put an old piece of carpet or plywood under the tractor where you park it to soak up the fluid... Best of luck...

I have been trying to locate that particular piece on the diagrams for the 300 series which list the parts and numbers. I find them confusing. Do you know on which page it is and what the part number is? I am really finding this helpful. This is the pride of my fleet. Other than the leak, this tractor look and runs like it is from the show room. Honest. Thanks Rick Carter

The parts catalog I have showes it on page 27A, and the place the bushings are in is part #7 and part #10 goes through it. It's been said on here that sandy lake has rebuilt ones.
