Ronald Hribar Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 First thing yesterday morning, after getting permission to skip work for rest of the day, was to hop into Ranger (I still have her) and head off to East Dubuque IL. ( 150 miles one way) Picked up a walk behind roto tiller. I have not tried it yet, but when I first saw it, thought that can not be what I'm getting for $25. Turned around and made it home. But first, had to refill gas tank. $45.00 for fuel costs. Then I head for Chicago, bought a 36 inch mower deck for $25. Even had good belt. Plan is to put this under 7117, probably will have to replace pulley and belt with on from 48 inch deck. I have several places on my lawn that the landscaping causes me to scalp the lawn. Will see if 36inch will prevent that from happening. So I spent $50 on parts, probably $75 in gas and 12 hours on the road. I felt thsat is was a good day. Slept very well last night.
SmilinSam Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 East Dubuque is where that little magnatrac crawler went I sold a couple of years ago. From there it went out to Washington State. With gas going up, its going to get hard to get people to drive much like that anymore to buy anything . Got a guy from Erie Il coming down this morning for the 616 Special with all the attachments. Curious to see if any of the other tractors I have on there sell tonight and in the morning.
D-17_Dave Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Glad you made the trip OK.Gas is hitting the 3.00 a gallon mark here this weekend and it's makeing me go plum broke. That's beginning to be my biggest exspence working for myself with all this running around.

Everybody I know running a service truck is tacking on the extra charge and listing it on the invoice as such. So far the customers all understand.
