OK, here is a fun story and I promise not to attach any questions....just an observation. Then again, I am curious if anyone else has notices the same annoying thing. For almost my entire adult-tractor-owning life, I have been using my 7016H. The hydrostatic lever moves very freely and is an absolute joy to operate. This weekend, I picked up my 912 and put her right to work on the lawn. However, the Hydro lever is much "tighter". Is that the right description? Maybe I should say it just takes more effort to move it. It still moves free, just not as free as the 7016. But the annoying thing is that I kept smashing my knuckles everytime I pusher her up to full throttle. [V] After performing a side-by-side examination....I found out why the smashed knuckles: 7016 profile:

912 profile:8)

There isn't as much room for my fat fingers!! Anyone else notice this and or take steps to remedy this annoying situation? :)

I have always pushed mine with an open palm. I've never grabbed it with a fist, so I have never mashed my knuckles. I never even thought about this till you brought it up. I can see from your pictures that there is less clearance on the 7100 series than on the 7000 series because of the shape of the hood.

I don't like hydro levers that don't move freely either! I ended up taking the pivit of the arm of mine apart and greasing it up nicely and putting it back together. Then I unbolted the gate and flexed the arm out until there was just barely enough pressure to activate the lockout. Then I spread a little grease on the gate. They will move much easier and smoother after this. This way it just takes a finger or two to bump the arm to where I want it.

Thanks for the tip 2burning. I will defintely do that. As for the twist lock....it is actually a factory installed plug. I inquired about it 6 months ago but no one knew with any certainty what it was for (it might have been at a different site though because someone here must know what it was for). But speculation was that it was to plug a sprayer into or to charge the battery. Whatever it is, I don't have the necessary implements or cables to use for it....so the plug is for sale. :D
