DannytheManny0 Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on how to replace a PTO clutch assembly or a possible bevel gearbox assembly. I was using my tiller the other day and it stopped working. If anyone has a blown up scematic of the bevel gearbox and clutch assembly and would email those to me that would be great. My email is kgvankampen@yahoo.com thanks, Dan Thank you for the information, I was trying to get the clutch cone off of the tractor and am not able to get the nut loose without turning the whole clutch assembly and belts. Does anyone know how to get that nut loose so I can work on the clutch?
stevei46 Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Dan go to the club home page and put your tractor type # should be on the tag with the serial number and begin with 169 in the search box for simplicity manuals you can down load them for free on simplicity's web sight

PatRarick Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 I've always used an impact wrench without any problems. If you don't have one, you should be able to hold it with a vice grip or pipe wrench on the hub of the pulley on the other side of the gearbox. Just make sure you are on the hub and not the spacers between the pulley and the gearbox. The nut on the other side may hold it, but if that nut isn't as tight as the nut on the clutch, it will loosen instead. An alternative would be to hold the engine crankshaft or the driveshaft with a vice grip. You should be able to position the vice grip so it locks against the frame as you loosen the clutch nut. Pat
