bud119195 Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I am building a 637 yeoman for speed I installed a bored out 7hp with a bigger cam and a shaved head . Now I need to figure out the pulleys .Am I correct by putting a larger pulley on motor and a smaller pulley on the rear end? Thanks
HubbardRA Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Be careful with that modified engine. You may want to make a crankcase and flywheel shield. That engine will turn more rpm than stock, and could come apart. Just be careful since that engine sits between your legs.
john-holcomb Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 You picked the right frame, I built mine on a broadmor frame and it scares the ---- out of me. Driving a tractor at 25+ with the front going one way and the rear the other is quite a thrill. Also I reccomend wheele bars mine will pull the wheels off and keep them off for a long long ways. It will also throw you right off the back if your not carefull and sometimes even when you are carefull. Mine is parked and will stay that way.
bud119195 Posted April 27, 2006 Author Posted April 27, 2006 Ive cut the lower part of the front axle off 1" to lower the font end and I've already started on wheeley bars,I am going to run a wider and shorter tire on the front to hopefully stabelise the front steering a little. and once it is built and tested a couple times it will probably very seldom come out of shed. As soon as I get a little farther Ill get some pictures posted.
firefoxz1 Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Like John said you pick the right frame, with the solid front axle and good bushings your front should be stable to start with.
shanhamm Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 hope you have a good helmet!!!! like i said before, my yeoman 637 stock through my butt off real quick. i'd like to see that when your done, when i have time to come and pick up that hitch. sorry i've been busy suddenly, just buying a house and selling the one i'm in. i'm forced to finish that honey do list.
AC808 Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Let me know when your done with yours...We can race down my road..im changing pulleys on a System 5008 Broadmoor...

firefoxz1 Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Here is my Racer(playtoy) Remember I did this a couple years ago already and it's gone through 3 front axles since then. It's got modified headlamps (they take 9006 auto bulbs), tail and brake lamps. Here it is today. Modified from a 87'Craftsman(Murray).
