Hydro pump friction?

Boogity

Recommended Posts

I'm in the process of changing my pump belt on my Simplicity 3415H and I noticed that the pully with the fan attached turns with a little resistance. It turns just fine - no noise- no excessive end play - nothing out of order. It just requires a bit of force to turn it. Does this indicate problems? Or is this normal? Thanks, guys. I had a Vickers hydro pump assembly on a bench and spun the input shaft slowly and to my suprise the output shaft was turning. I thought it was wierd that it would turn at like 3 rpm's and when I grabbed the output gear I couldn't stall it. So when you spin the pulley, you are possibly spinning all the gears in the trans. I think your fine.
