eagle5473 Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Does anyone know where I might find a nutral position safety switch for my AC720? Mine is missing, and stopping at the local dealer resulted in no luck, or if someone can get a good pic of how it works I might cob something together. I have started it a few times while not being in the seat, and even the slightest wrong position will result in a moving tractor that is not good thanks
eagle5473 Posted May 4, 2006 Author Posted May 4, 2006 Jim, I am not sure what your question is? My switch is completly missing
JP Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 If the bushings are worn, it will creep. I'll look to see if I have one. You're one of the few that put them on. That's one of the first things to go 'zinging' across the garage. The part is 177943, usually the lower one is in the worst shape. If that's worn, it could creep once the motor's running even if the limit switch is working. Just thought, is your quadrant & handle working with the ball? JP
eagle5473 Posted May 4, 2006 Author Posted May 4, 2006 I did not look too close at it I know it has to be just right for it to stay still in nutral
D-17_Dave Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I have one for the 620's. I think they are mounted up on the dash on the 720's so I'm not sure if they are the same part # or not. If you want to look up the #'s and see if they cross over we can go from there. But the same goes for what JP described. The nylon bushings will harden and deteriorate untill they fall out resulting in a loose linkage control and next to iposible to keep a neutral position located. I'll admit that my neutral switch is bypassed but my linkage is in good shape ant the quadrant and linkage adjusted for a solid neutral position so I rare;y have and problems with it creeping. BTW, even with the safety switch in place and working if the linkage has slop in it it'll still creep while in the neutral position.
eagle5473 Posted May 4, 2006 Author Posted May 4, 2006 Thanks Dave, I have not looked at the bushing, but the hydro controls seem to have little or no slop in them, and yes my switch looks like it lived up on the dash tower at one time.....I will double check the part numbers
