This may not be new, but this is the cleanest way I have found to route the exhaust to where it ought to be, when putting and older style engine with the original muffler (700 AC or 7000 Simplicity), into a newer (900 AC or 7100 Simplicity). I went to a muffler shop and had them bend several "S" bends in a full length of straight 1 1/2"tubing. I made sure he did the "S" at random, leaving various lengths between bend. With some guess work fitting it ended up like so, two random joints, pointing the right direction then welded at the joint and muffler. The 1 1/2" pipe slips over the exhaust outlet and can be welded. My welds aren't pretty but seems to hold. I had to hurry because I was just about out of oxygen (a good excuse for a bad looking weld). The long bend is out of the way if there is a front PTO or a pulley and is a lot neater than putting a 2" hole in the hood, like the older series has or putting on an aftermarket muffler. The reason I did this was, the original person that switched engines just let the exhaust shoot out against the inside of the front hood, as if there was a hole there, (which there wasn't). B.R.

Ron, Looks good. Did you cut the hole in the frame or was it already there? Does the right front tire get warm at all?

That is where the hole is in a 900 series or at least that is where it is in my 917H and 7116H.
