Dealer in the next town has one out front for sale. I stopped, and looked at it today, expecting a blue and white twin to my 3410 Landlord,or a my 7016 Sovereign. Not the case. Hood is different, has a few different bends in it,and the exhaust exits the front, through the grill, instead of the side. Battery is set 90 degrees off where Simplicity puts 'em,and uses a different fuel tank. Also the hole for the fuel fill in the hood is moved to match the tank.Dash is different. But the big thing was this one has a 3 speed, with Hi/Lo trans.Never saw a newer RBT with that option. This WAS a Simplicity I was looking at,right?;)

It probably was the A-C built version. It would more or less resemble the Allis-Chalmers 300 and 400 Series Garden Tractors.

Definitely the A/C built version. Been very happy with my A/C built Homelite T-12 with Vickers hydro. Seems to be just the right size RBT (compared to my GTH-L which is a bit bigger and has a higher center of gravity so says my hilly yard). IMO the only issue with the A/C built Homelite's is the front electric clutch; without one the tractor can't mow or blow snow - gotta have a spare available.

Didn't know an A/C version existed.Learn sumpthin' new every day... This one had a snowblade on it,no mower deck.Hood was an unappealing shade of rust, needed a seat, etc. Maybe it could be bought cheap....;)
