I really need to know how good of a tractor the Deutz Allis is. I have the chance to buy the model 1814 for $850 delivered. He has put alot of new parts in it and repainted it the original color. It is a hydro with 42" deck. I don't know enough about them to make the decision. I believe Simplicity owned them?? If anyone has any info to share I would appreciate it. I have to make a decision by Weds. Thank you

The tractor was made by Simplicity For Deutz Allis. The Deutz Allis 1800 series Is the same tractor as a Simplicity 6500 series tractor just different color and decals. There was no 1814 Deutz Allis. There was an 1813H, 1816H, and 1817H models. if it is a 14hp the engine has been changed. These were a small frame heavy duty lawn tractor/light duty garden tractor. They were made in 1987 to 1989.

Is that the one that was discussed a few months ago, with the expensive to fix hydro?

That tractor has a decal on it that says 1814 and it says either Sigma or Segma on it as well. Thank you for the information. Do you think that it may not be a good buy?? I don't want to over pay, it is in excellent shape. Also did those other models that you mentioned come with twin engines? Thank you

I believe Kenny is right. This tractor was discussed here awhile ago the hydro was bad in it and was very expensive to repair. The person that bought it was advised not to but he bought it anyway. You should look this tractor over very carefully and think twice about buying it at that price. JMO I looked in two of my books and there was no Deutz Allis 1814H listed. I kept looking and in a third book I found a Deutz Allis 1814H MFG# 1691560 listed. There was no coresponding Simplicity 6500 series 14hp tractor listed. So the 14hp 1800 series might have only been made for Deutz Allis.
