D-17_Dave Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 I picked up a Davis trencher today w/ a Wisc. engine in it. It's a rather large single cyl. The tag's labeled mod. # AGND Can someone cross this to a HP. Thanks, Dave.
gregc Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 12.5 hp at 3200 rpm. http://www.asecc.com/data/wisconsin-models.html
HubbardRA Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Dave, I have a good friend who is really into the Wisconsin engines. He has two homebuilt tractors, both have 4 cyl Wisconsin engines on them. I know he also has a 9 Hp and an 18 Hp (I think). If you need any help, PM me and I will get you in touch with him. He has also found some sources of NLA parts for them. Nice guy, I'm sure he will be glad to help if you need it.
D-17_Dave Posted June 9, 2006 Author Posted June 9, 2006 Thanks Greg, I new I had seen that somewhere before but I couldn't find it last night. Rod, thanks for the help. I hope I won't have to need much for it since they are so rare compared to Briggs and Kohlers. This one has the magneto on it. I filed the points, put some gas in it and a fresh bat. and after spinning the rats nest out of the fan shroud it fired and runs good. It's a little bigger in size than a 16 Kohler but they don't have as much power for the sized package. It'll make a good project engine sometime. My DW trencher is down right now to the tune of 1200.00 in repairs IF I chose to fix it. I think I can do a little work to the track drive in this Davis and finish a few things before I disasemble it for something else I have in mind. Think about it. More to come lare on that.lol
