Bunky Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 I picked up a Allis 314H the other day (no pictures yet I had to stash it at Mowerman1193's til next week We had a graduation and i didn't want it sitting around).. the Story is that the guy was mowing and the mower quit and they haven't been able to get it started, He said he thinks the Compression release is messed up.. It's in good shape I just can't decide if I should keep it or part it out... Are the parts for these machines sought after??
SmilinSam Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 The only parts I ever had any luckk selling off the 300 and 400 series are the engine parts, steering wheels, and power lifts, plastic tool trays and other misc mechanical driveline components . The frame and structure parts I generally just junk.
PhanDad Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Sam, Any chance a mule drive off of one of these tractors could be used on a 7000 series Simplicity with a front PTO to drive the right hand discharge decks?

Anything is possible with some fabrication. You would have to invent a way to mount the pulleys inside the front frame lining up with the clutch pulley and hanging down far enough to line up with the drive pulley on the mower deck on the other end. Then you would have to rebulid the mower deck mount to fit the hitch on your tractor axle.
maxtorman1234 Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 I'd keep it, they seem to handle a bit nicer than the other tractors, its definately worth keeping if its repairable.
Mack Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 I have to agree with Graham. The 314H was the top of the line AC tractor in 1971. Since I got my 314H a few years ago it has become my favorite machine to use.
