portuncia Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 You guys are lucky who live out east as there seems to be an abundance of stuff available for your tractors, not so for us on the West Coast. Got a guy with a pretty heavy duty dozer blade who wants $50.00 for it. It looks adaptable, do you think its worth the price.
eagle5473 Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 depends upon what tractor it might go to what size is it does it have hydroulics?
portuncia Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 AC B112 but the dozer blade has a manual lever for it too.
eagle5473 Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 for a smaller tractor that seams reasonable but chew him down a bit LOL
firefoxz1 Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 If it's the actual 46" dozer blade with the springs, $50 is a good price. One on e-bay just went for $85 without the lift rod.
Bonaro Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I am also on the west coast (washington) and I totally agree. The only AC I have ever seen is the one I own. I have a B-212 (about the same size as yours) with a front blade. It works well but you MUST improve traction to get anything done. I added 150 lbs. of wheel weights and crosslink tire chains. I truly wish I had hydro, the manual lift will work your left arm to death. I also added about 20 lbs. of weight to the blade so it would cut. Dan
Deutz1920 Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 The plow blade on ebay for $85 was me, is that a good price? It seems over the winter they were going for $150-$250 and were never near me. This one is only 40 minutes away. I was willing to go to $160 that was what I put in my 15 seconds left to bid and got it for $85. I will pick it up on Monday. Mark G.
IronPony Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Just about anywhere west of Iowa is a Smiplicity/AC desert. I am always looking but seldom find anything - - Western Nebraska Dan aka IronPony
jdm Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Mark G. My opinion. If you want it and you get it for a price you are willing to pay, that is the only thing that matters. I expect I have paid too much for items at times, but hey, I've got them and are using them and I'm happy.
Ketchamized Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 I have gotten a plow for $15.00 on ebay. The owner lived 60 miles away, and I had to drive through the Catskills to get it. Gas was $15 for the trip. So, for $30.00, I got a steal. Two years later, got a snowblower. Cost me $60- cleaned up the original plow and gave it a can paint job and sold it for $75.00, so in effect, I paid $30.00 for a good snowblower. :o)
firefoxz1 Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Mark, Yes even at $85.00 dollars that one with little wear was a good buy. I bid on it only because it looked like I could get a real steal because it looked like no-one was bidding. I only bid a minimal amount, being I have one already one, but am glad a club member got it.
CHolmes Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 I just bought one of these tractors and am not sure if I have everything, What keeps the blade up when it is raised? I can hold it up manually but do not see any way to lock it there.

Boney Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Someone correct me if I am wrong please. I think the heavy duty Sim/Ac blade is left right adjustable from the seat. I have the light duty blade {$40} and have to get up to tilt it left or right. The blade is great, but I could do without the exercise...lol lol. P.S I got the blade from a member, great price, great blade, would buy from him again anytime.

For certain jobs, the mid-mount grader blade works better than the front blade. I have 2 front blades, which I need to push snow, ice and slush in the wintertime. Do you have snow on the west coast? oldone Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 I have a rear counter weight mounted on my B112 for the front blade. thats is lot better for your arm!
CHolmes Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 I don't have the rear counterweight for the blade, does anyone know of a reasonable facsimile? What is the approximate weight it should be?
Guest Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 If I get a chance, I can weigh an original one. I think they are about 40-50lbs. As for a blade, $50 is a steal; I've sold and traded at a value of $300 for multiple complete spring trip blades with all lift parts and tilting arm. I also traded at least twice at $150 for the three way. Otherwise, the only real driver on the cost of blades is availability, location and immediate need for a complete outfit; if you look at the new price, anything seems cheaper than that. There is a difference in the mount for the newer tractors, that makes blades with the new mount worth more (say $175). When I get blades, often they are missing lift rods (seem to get lost by people) and or the actual tractor mount.
