Various questions about my 620

I have a ac620 I have replaced the points and condenser. I can not adjust the timing box to the left enough to get the marks to align on the crank shaft / block. I am puzzled the engine tag states it is a ccka - according to the manual it has the timing marks and hard ware of a cckb any thoughts? I bought a used DANCO loader a while back it works well but doesn't seem to tilt or lift as much as it should. Does any one know the max lift height for these loaders? it seems to be only 4 feet or so? I wonder if it has the wrong cylinders? Any info is truly appreciated

Try seting the points to .025. As viewed from the tractor seat move the timing box to the extreme left.

Brian, something is VERY wrong :Dwith that loader. I think it needs to move this way to Pa. It sounds a like its a little upset and needs a new home. I'll do you a favor and take it off your hands, this way you wont have to get mad at it anymore. I am sure it will improve your health and lower your blood pressure.:D;) AHHA, the tractor had a love spat with the loader yeah thats it. so it is refusing to work with the loader. ONE has got to go, I have room for a loader, hint hint :D Welcome aboard, great site and tons of info and great folks here. James K.

If you have a 620, the original engine should be a CCKB. Do you have the downdraft(CCKA) or side draft(CCKB)carb? Are you using the timing marks on the front clutch with a timing light?

when my loader wouldn't hold its tilt and later wouldn't lift, it needed rebuilding the cylinders. Mine is an Ark loader and the rebuild was fairly easy. I'm not familiar with the Danco.

Thanks for the great welcome.:D My tractor does have a side draft carb. I am also using a timing light on the front clutch / pointer. I have shifted the box in both directions the timing does change but it is still not spot on. It seems that I would have to mill the slot in the points box another 1/4 inch. As far as the loader goes it lifts and works perfectly. It just dosen't seem to lift high enough or tilt enough. I was hoping to load my pickup (small) with it. But it won't even clear the tailgate. Thanks for the info

Brian, I'd say you have the incorrect cyl's for the application. That doesn't mean that they are the wrong cyl's for the loader. Do they look changed from paint colour or any other obvious swap indicator? Also, you may have the angle of the loader mounted low changing the effective lift height of the cyl's. Did this loader come with the mounts for this style tractor or did tyou or someone make your own mounts and adapt this to this tractor?

The loader mounted right up, came with all the mounts. I was told it was on a 4140. Whatever it was it has front exhaust (carbon on frame). Everything seems to match. Possible repaint. I do not see any way of changing the angle of the unit except at the threaded rodends.

Then I would say the cyl's have been changed at some point and were possibly replaced by a ceaper inexpensive set w/ less atroke. It shouldn't be tough to ask around to have someone else who has a simular unit measure thiers and give you the dimentions on the correct cyl. you need.

This is real basic but have you checked to make sure you have enough oil in system? You might search the photo gallery on SimpleTractors for a Danco loader to see what the cylinders should look like.

I think the pictures of Powermax Paul's machines had a DANCO loader....
