Can anyone tell me is this seems like a good deal. It is located only a few miles away and thought a spare tractor would be good...Yup!!! I got the bug. Had to delete the link, I will re post shortly.. Thanks! http://cgi.ebay.com/Simplicity-6216-Lawn-Garden-Riding-Tractor-w-16-HP_W0QQitemZ7775027652QQihZ018QQcategoryZ66761QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Mark

I sold a truely mint one of these for $700 off my front lawn. They are nice machines, quiet, not too fast and drink more gas than my B112. I wouldn't enter a pulling contest with it, but it is nice to cut the lawn with.

NO deck so I would have to say no unless you have a deck to put on it. I believe this was on before with the deck seperate, the deck sold but the tractor didn't.

Good catch on the "no deck", since it's only good for cutting the grass... I agree, not without the deck.

I wouldn't go that far... they'll do fine with a tiller or snowblower, though not a moldboard plow. IMO, they're not as tough as a Sovereign or Landlord, but don't sell them short, either...

Well I'm not sure how it would handle it, but the moldboard plow was in the list of attachments for the 6216 and 6211.

If you look underneath, it has the pto/mounting bracket for the snowblower. If you had a snowblower you wouldn't have to find the hitch. These machines do good at snowblowing, cutting grass, blading, and tilling. I've had a 4211 with all these attachments and it did real well.

I understand, Greg. IMO, they're too light to pull one very well. Bottom line is that this is a yard/garden tractor with a cast-iron tranny... not just a mower.

Ok, I stand corrected, the machine is more than a grass machine, I too would agree that a tiller and snowblower would work well on these... When I bought mine, I missed out on the snow blade and only got a deck and an original engine driven vacuum unit (that's all I bought it for and wow did that combination drink gas). Though from experience, I thought the machine was too light and I believe the attachments might be harder to find. It did cut a nice lawn and I was not impressed with the speed or the silly variable speed lever, I had NO confidence in it's strength for what I need in my yard... heck I like the B-Series.

I have a 6211 I use for plowing snow. I have 25"*?*12" atv tires and weights on the back wheels. With this combo I can outplow any other tractor in the community. I would not sell them to short there either. I stated that without the deck it would not be worth what the bids at to me, but Kserver did point out that it does have a snowblower pto assy hanging underneath and has chains on it so that's a plus. It's not in that bad of shape from the pictures either. Michael: I do agree I have a 6216 also and it does seem way thirsty compared to the 6211.

I have a 6216 with deck, blade, tiller, and snowblower. so far i have plowed snow with the blade never had the blower on. it really will push alot of snow. i have weights and chains and it would plow in 3rd gear up a grade without any sweat. the thing does use alot of gas i tilled my 20 x 25 garden 6 passes and mowed 1/2 acre of grass 4 times and it has used about 5 gallon of gas, it needs alot more weight on the front end it has a tendacy to snow plow when turning short. i just swapped the 16 hp engine for a newer 18 horse one when i get the carb and govenor set right i want to see if it is any better on gas if you were sure the engine is ok i think it might be the max for it with no attachments, i payed $300 for one with a blown motor but it came with the snowblower and a like new mower deck that i swapped for the one i was useing

I have a 6216 and a 6218, both with original B&S motors - both seem to use the same amount(roughly) of gas - and I will agree also, running full tilt either mowing, tilling, snowthrowing or plowing/grading, the fuel does disappear quick - Chris
