patrician12 Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I 've got 36 hours on my KT19 Kawasaki conversion. In the shop manual it says to check this and that. One thing I like to do is lower max govenor speed to 3200 rpm.To do this I removed the valley pan and there to my surprise was embossed on the engine MADE IN U.S.A.!!!!!!All my guilt is almost gone for not buying a Briggs and as for buying imported ,which I'm really against, I feel relieved.
RayS Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I think there made in Minnesota. Don`t feel bad. Briggs has plants in China.
comet66 Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I believe Kawasaki makes many of their products in Lincoln Nebraska. I'd be careful lowering the rpm's of any air cooled engine. The cooling capacity of the fan is calculated on the volume of air it moves at a set rpm. You could cause it to run hot.
UCD Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Does it say U.S.A. or USA, Kawasaki had a big plant in USA pronounced yousa Japan.
Tacey Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 A number of years ago, the local steel mill here in Pennsylvania was known as ARMCO Steel. It is now "AK Steel". I believe the "K" stands for Kawasaki. Lotsa good paying jobs for Pennsylvanians. Tacey
