SmilinSam Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 A auction listing for Sunday 6-25-06 that lists a bunch of cadet equipment , then at the bottom of the sale bill it reads : " Homelite CT-10 (for parts)" I may have to investigate this first hand:D Also lists a tractor frame mount post hole digger with 9 and 12 inch augers, only there are no big tractors listed, just garden tractors. You dont suppose...????....do you???...
D-17_Dave Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Now your just teasing us Sam. However it does seem to warrant a little further look don't it.
dirtsaver Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Sam..Sam....you just know how to hurt a guy don't ya! I rarely see a Sunday auction around here. When there is one, it's always "fine furniture and antiques". Good Luck and hopefully that auger is what you're thinking it might be.
tractormike Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Good luck in your hunt for the post hole digger!!!
SmilinSam Posted June 25, 2006 Author Posted June 25, 2006 I imagine if would be little more than wishful thinking that it would be a garden tractor post digger. But, the way these auctioneers advertise stuff you never know what you will find when you get there. One sale advertised a Simplicity broadmoor, then right next to that it listed "attachment for simplicity". The attachment turned out to be a pallet with a #370 weed cutter and a 46" sickle mower in near new condition. Another recent sale advertised a homade tractor with a kohler engine. I went to see about the engine. Turned out to be a repainted and cobbled up 720 Allis with an Onan.
SmilinSam Posted June 25, 2006 Author Posted June 25, 2006 Post digger was for a farm tractor. Got the CT-10 for parts cheap. Not really worth fixing up though.Tranny is stuck and no wheels. Deck was welded up pretty badly. Chalk it up to spare parts maybe for the one I'm using. Although I cold salvage the frame and wait till I get a Broadmoor to complete it with and a better deck shell. Had competition on the Sears plow and the 42" blade for the CT-10 so I let them go. Got a few other odds & ends. Also got a front/center blade for a Cub LowBoy cheap. That should be the money maker out of the bunch.

Jumped the gun on that assesment. Found the engine to be a great running magnatron equipped short block! Tranny wasnt stuck either. Bolts had fallen out of one side mount plate and the shifter dropped out of the alignment hole. Now All I need to do is dredge up some wheels & Tires, a seat, a GAs tank and another deck and we will have a pair to mow with. I like these with the 42" deck. They only sip gas. Can just about mow the whole yard on a gallon.
