portuncia Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 The recent post on the engine oil disappearing got me thinking. Someone mentioned Onans and tilting hillsides my mean oil starvation. I have a B-112 my new property has some hills, do I need to be careful, i.e. just straight up and down or can I tilt her a bit side to side.
lndscpr Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 be carefull on hills. you can blow your engine or get yourself killed.
D-17_Dave Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 I've mowed for years with diff. kinds of mowers on hillsides where you almost couldn't stay on the tractor and never had a problem.
MikeES Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 The Briggs engine in your tractor (if it is original) has a great splash system that is much better than most including the Kohlers. I have steep hills and mowed them every which way for 26 years. Just change the oil and keep it full.
portuncia Posted June 27, 2006 Author Posted June 27, 2006 Thanks for the input, yes it is the original 12 hp briggs. It is chompin at the bit to get up there and do some work, moving this holiday weekend.
