SmilinSam Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Didnt have a shroud on it when I got it. No markings on the block anywhere. Dont believe its a Briggs or Tecumseh as the exaust port is on the governor side while the intake port is on the shroud side under the shroud with a pipe going out the opposite side (starter side) running behind the magneto. Never seen anything like this before. It is an aluminum block and had an electric clutch on it. Any ideas anyone?
PatRarick Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 It's a Briggs. I can't recall the specific application, but it seems to me it was an 11 horse. Pat
SmilinSam Posted July 2, 2006 Author Posted July 2, 2006 Thanks for the informatio!:D Gives me somehwere to go to look for what else the electric clutch fits.
lboy1971 Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 That looks just like the Briggs 11HP engines in a Cub 1100 and Bolens G11XL that I have.
SmilinSam Posted July 2, 2006 Author Posted July 2, 2006 I compared it to a 11hp Briggs vertical shaft and a 8 hp horizontal shaft and The bolt pattern for the clutch is the same as the 8 and the pan and block shape is about the same as the 11. I also dug up a couple of Tecumseh Blocks and found little to no similarities there.
Ketchamized Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 It has to be a Briggs. Looks like my Briggs that's on my MTD Mastercraft. It's not the same engine, but parts look similar. Sometimes the carb has markings on it. Erick
