Hello to everyone, I was driving down the road and saw an Allis Chalmers B-1 for sale. No one was around to ask any information about it. But it had a mowing deck, and the sleeve hitch on the rear. Everything seemed to be there except the starter generator. Could anyone give me an idea of would be a reasonable asking price, if I approached the owner, next time I am in the area.??? Thanks to everyone. David.

Alot depends on the shape it is in.Like sheet metal will the engine runs and etc.And like most people here will say how bad you need it and how much you are willing to spend on it.Tony

Thanks for the post. As mentioned earlier, I do not know too much about the machine. It is clearly in used condition. But all the parts, sheet metal, hood, seat etc. is all there. The motor did spin by hand, and had compression. Do not know if it runs though. Thanks for the input. David.

How much are you willing to pay for it? Seriously state what you would like to pay and then You will get advice if it is in ballpark.

Hello, Thanks for the note. $ 200, just for the fact that it is the original AC tractor David.

I would say if you can get it for that price, I'd go for it.

There are a lot of conditions as stated above that could be factors as to what it might be wourth. But since it is the first model AC that in it's self would add a little to it. Consider the fact too that if you do pick it up these are somewhat uncommon for parts trators so if you get it and part it out you could make some off the deal. I would hate to see that happen but it's always a possibility. I too would say your in the ball park around the 200.00 figure.

I bought a similar B1 about 2 months ago.No deck, but has the rear lift, missing the coil on the engine, hadn't run in years.I gave $75.00,but would have given twice that.

Thanks for the posts, I am planning on going back past this guys house over this upcoming weekend. I will keep you posted. You never know he may have other hidden gems, in the barn. When I bump into him I plan on asking if he has other pieces of equipment for sale. David.

Hey David, if you get it and like it, I have one that sounds like it's in the same condition. It does smoke a bit, but does run decent. I even got new decals for it. Mite be neat to have a pair. Let me know if your interested. Oh I'm in CT BTW. Elon

Hello. Thanks for the post, I will let you know when I get a chance to check it out further. Those Briggs motors can certainly tolerate a significant amount of years of service, even though they may smoke a little. I do not know too much about the AC models, I have a few Simplicity tractors though. I do know that the AC are very similiar to the Simplicity. This particular machine does look fairly complete, which is what caught my eye. Talk with you later. David.
