billy7016 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Ok just got a new one.It was the tail end of an estate sale and this did not go.A friend called me and said hey I think it's free, here is the address. I got it home and was happy with my first foot dragger.I drove it around and came back and eyed the tiller and the mint condition deck.Big smiles I was. Soon after I went in and got my wife.I said come here you have to see this honey. She came out and said "Oh how adorable" followed by "can I have it" ? I said sure thinking we will call it hers but I will make it my lawn machine in the end. Well I went to town yesterday with her and she visited the Ace hardware store while we were there.I will say no more other than this.I would rather have her plugging along side me than threatening divorce for bringing home yet another Simplicity or AC.So this is a good thing right? For the record. The hood is fabricated and is not OE.It was painted black and very ugly along with hot here as it was 117 degrees F last week here. But it matters not because Pink is what it would be anyways. Now as I walked back from my daily routine at the garden today I swung by the back yard to see How she was doing with the little "girl" as she calls it.She has pink paint smuged on her cheek and her hands are semi black from sanding when she looks up and says "Do Ya think My tractors sexy" ! Oh god What have I started!
gregc Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Hope your wife has many happy years with her Simplicity-Bismol.:D That was a real lucky find. Congrats.
shanhamm Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 i wish my wife could be that happy, she just wants her parking spot back in the garage!!!!!! (that my tractors are parked in)
billy7016 Posted July 6, 2006 Author Posted July 6, 2006 yeh I told her about the "bismol" and she agrees. But my power of designe is somewhat limited as I fail to see the whole picture according to her.The hood will in fact recieve a rose mural.Or in her words " a flame job with roses instead of flames".She also wants a white seat and to stitch a rose in the backrest.
ehertzfeld Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Wow low speed pulley and a right hand lever, and for free?????? What a deal!!!!!!!!!!!! I would be taking that right hand lever off before she paints that pink too![:0] Nice find! Elon
billy7016 Posted July 6, 2006 Author Posted July 6, 2006 good one sam I had to wait to stop laughing to type the reply. :)
MPH Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Great deal you got going on here, heck, a pink Landlord is far better then a "Pink Caddie"
comet66 Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 quote:Originally posted by billy7016 I drove it around and came back and eyed the tiller and the mint condition deck. A running freebie, with a deck and tiller. I'd buy that friend a sody-pop of his choice!!! All I can say is WOW!
