watson6 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 what is the original colors for a 707, I would like to make my new project look good. I picked this up while searching for parts for my b-208. I have seen some simplicity tractors with a set of stripes on the hood. Is that only on some models? Need to locate some stickers for it also... Thanks for any help..
RayS Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 You will have to take a piece that is faded to a automotive paint supply to get a exact match or if choose spray cans, I hear chevy orange is close. the decals you will have to take to a sign shop to have them duplicated. If you want to be able to get decals easy switch to a Allis. Here`s a link to Allis decals. http://www.wellsimplement.com/lawn.htm
bud119195 Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 I use plasticoat chevy oarange and think it looks pretty nice
Jovee Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Simplicity Corporate Orange should be available thru your local Simplicity or Agco dealer. The part # for the spray can is Agco # 79014656
watson6 Posted July 7, 2006 Author Posted July 7, 2006 What shade of white? Antique white, White , Almond.. I looked at almond and it looks to be to tan... I was thinking about antique white.... What do you think? I painted my b208 with chevy orange and didn't know if the Simplicity was close to the same color or not.
watson6 Posted July 7, 2006 Author Posted July 7, 2006 Bud119195, That color looks great. nice looking tractor.
debshirl Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 just met mowerman1193 in michigan he had decals made at local sign shop for his 717 he may be able to help you out he said he had sold several sets
Tom_Byrne Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 You can get Allis Chalmers Orange from your local True Value Hardware store. Very close if not a dead on match. You just need to watch yourself painting with it- it runs very easily, so several thin coats is best. I just painted my wheels with Rustoleum white. The stripes can be bought at an auto supply, just cut to the size you need.
firefoxz1 Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 I use the Chevy engine Orange/red for tractors of this vintage for spray cans. The white I've been using Ivory, not as dark as Almond but definitely not white. The Orange/Red should be right but unsure what the white was on the Broadmoors. I recently had some paint mixed at the auto supply Ford-Vermillion red/poppy red. It matches real close if not perfect.
watson6 Posted July 14, 2006 Author Posted July 14, 2006 When did Simplicity start to paint their tractors red?
