patrician12 Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 The pulley on my 48"deck on my 919H spun on the shaft and is wiped out,Here is my problem.Of my 5 48" decks this arbor set is unique. It is probably not the one that came with the tractor.Instead of a one piece pulley it has a 3 piece set up.The top or pto pulley is heavy cast iron held on with 3 bolts to an arbor adapter that is held on with a big nut and not a bolt. The arbor assembly pulls out the bottom not the top and is held together with nuts and bolts.I looked in my Simplicity parts manual but I don't see this type. Can anybody help with the part number for the deck pulley that turns the blades? Thanks
PhanDad Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 I believe a mfg #1690021 has the type of center arbor you described. Not sure what you mean by the "arbor assembly pulls out the bottom not the top..."; I thought almost all arbor assemblies bolt to the top of the deck except for retrofits of new style arbors in old deck shells. The new style arbors do bolt together and sometimes use mouning rings to get the proper vertical spacing. But those that I've seen use splined pulleys.
GWGAllisfan Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 That sounds a lot like the one on my 42 inch deck. Is it the pully you need or the adapter? Sound like it might be an older deck from maybe a 700 series. Pull up the manual for a either 1690232 and look at page 56 and see if the deck pictures look the same. If I knew how to get a picture off the PDF file I have I would post it but don't know how. If it's that I think all of it is still available.
RenegadeJ Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 The deck you describe is the same deck that came with my 3112V when I purchased it new in 1969. The top pulley that bolts onto the pulley hub with 3 bolts is part number 108438. The pulley hub that it bolts to is part number 108437. The 3 mower pulleys that are below the deck covers are part number 108142. Keep in mind that simplicity has changed some part numbers but they should be able to cross reference them for you if thay have changed the numbers. These number are from the manual that I got with the tractor in 1969. Hope this helps.
