Hi all- My name is Keith. I'm from the Kalamazoo, Michigan area. I'm new to the forum and just purchased a model 5216 with a 42" mowing deck. Just looking for your thoughts and recommendations about this unit. I hope that it was a good model and that I can still get parts for it readily. Thanks for your input and I hope to spend some time here with you. Keith

Keith it's a good lawn tractor/light garden tractor. Not sure what your using it for. Most(if not all) parts are available from Simplicity. I reccomend any of the sponsors here on the site. I have a 5216 with the turbo vac and cart. I use for mowing and picking up the leaves. It works well. If you have tech questions, let me know. If I can't help you others can. Do a search for 5216, you'll find existing questions and answers. Go to the club home page and put in your MFG# in the Simplicity Tech Pub search. You can download Op Manuals, Parts List etc. If you need a repair manual I may have it already. can email it to you. AND if you haven't already, spend the $10 for membership. It is worth so much more than $10. Bill, NJ

Thanks Bill! The wife and I just bought an old farm house that has a 2 acre lawn to mow. We also live in a snowbelt in Michigan and I'll be looking for a snowthrower for it. Do any of you know if a snowthrower from an old 7000 series will fit? My brother-in-law has an old 7___ something that he will give me that has a snowthrower on it. (the rest of it is in terrible shape) My wife also wants a garden, so I guess I'm looking to rototill with the tractor also. A blade od some kind might also be helpful to me. Are the attachments easily found? Bill, I did a search right away for 5216 and came up empty. I would have thought there would be something. I just tried it again and came up with nothing but my post. I just paid the $10 for dues. I help to run a very large snowmobile site and I realize the value of monetary participation. I expect to be utilizing this site quite often and have no qualms about being a paying member. I'm just glad the site is here. Thanks! Keith

Your so right... $10 is nominal and really helps pay for the space all these answers take.

Keith, If you tried typing "5216" into the Simplicity Tech Pubs search box you won't find anything. This box needs the Simplicity Model Number of your tractor. You need to locate a tag somewhere on the tractor with a Simplicity Model Number "169xxxx". Type this number into the search box and you will come up with all the documents that directly apply to that model. If you can't find the tag or your model number still comes up empty, you'll have to take the more cumbersome route and figure out what you have and search for anything related to "5216" using the instructions in this post. http://simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=32436 Good luck and welcome to the club. I typed the '5216' in the search box in the upper right corner of the forum page in order to search the forums. The only thing it comes up with is this thread. I'm actually going to pick it up this evening. I'm sure I'll have more questions soon. Thanks!

Thanks UCD! I didn't realize that there was a different search area other than the box at the top right. I haven't had time to do much exploration yet.
