cadman Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 I found a picture of a homemade weightbox-hitch-subsoiler on here a while ago it was yellow and had adjustable teeth on it. I have the picture but it is strictly a left view and I was wondering if there are other views of this implement? Also are there any other homemade pics of subsoilers in anybodys picture archives? I did a search this morning but "subsoiler" did not return anything Thanks in advance for anyones input, Colin
JoeJ Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Colin, I think that is Kent's tractor and the weight box/ripper is a Johnny Products addition.
UCD Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 That is a combination weight box & scarifier. It is called a Johnny box and is on on Kent's Big Ten tractor. It is a prototype made by John Scheele the owner of Johnny products and maker of Johnny bucket. lndscpr Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 i was interested in this box too. I was not able to locate it on the jbjr site. Are they still making them????
Kent Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 These were prototypes. I think John Scheele only made a couple of them...
john-holcomb Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Not the same but I made a unit to mount on my brinly adaptor out of old drag parts. Using square tube and 6 tines and clamps from a section of horse drawn drag I made a very handy field cultivator. After testing I had to roll the tines up since they cut way to deep 10+ inches and I couldn't pull it. I have it set now to work about 5 to 6" and its great. It would very easy make a good subsoiler with maybe 2 tines. I can't ever seem to make a picture post or I would. Great little rig easy to build and all scrap parts. JW
cadman Posted July 15, 2006 Author Posted July 15, 2006 Thanks very much for the link to the rest of the pictures. I wanted to fab up something similiar, out of respect for John Scheele I will not copy it exactly. The design certainly solves the 3 things that I would like to have at the back of my 64' landlord. Sincerely, Colin
