wayno Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 My brother's B-10 has a starting issue. When you go to start the engine, it is extreemly slow turning over. It was eventually starting after about a minute or two of this slow turning over. Now it's not starting for him. I was thinking it was the battery but it doesn't turn slower the longer it takes to kick it over. It's the same speed until it starts. Could it be the starter? He said he is going to try jumper cables on the battery to see if it is faster but I'm not holding my breath for him to try that. What do you guys think? Wayno
msiebern Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Bearings in the S/G could be worn, allowing starter to drag. If the jumper cables yield the same result, I would have it checked.
portuncia Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 just had to replace my S/G; bad bearings and debris inside that would allow it to drag sometimes and also just lock up. $98 for a rebuilt one that starts her right up.
wayno Posted July 18, 2006 Author Posted July 18, 2006 OK guys thanks for the replys. I will relay this info to him. I love this place! Wayno
