cahickm2 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Tonight I called a guy who had a simplicity sitting beside his shed. My girlfriends dad said that he would sell it if someone offered him. Well we went to look at is and to my suprise it was in pretty good shape. The seat is junk but thats all cosmetically. He said the the carburator needs rebuilt and he didn't have time or the want to mess with it since he has the aniversary model. I offered hime $50 for it and he took it. It is a Sovereign 3212H. It has a 48" deck too. Is that a good tractor? Or am I better off using it for parts?
JP Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Hey, Great find!! AND a special model to boot!! My first simplicity was a 3010H, I've since had it passed on to two good friends & It's workin' hard! Fix it up! Give it another life! I'm sure it'll work hard for you!! JP
BLT Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 If everything appears to be OK that can be a keeper. They are the heavy frame series and with subtle changes over the years had a 25 plus year production run. You can get your money back at least two fold, for engine and mower deck by itself. And if it has has the hydraulic lift good hydrostatic transmission, perhaps more.
cahickm2 Posted July 21, 2006 Author Posted July 21, 2006 Would the mower deck from that tractor fit on my landlord 2112?
Guest Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Yes, mower deck will fit a 2112... except, the 3212H is a great machine; Then again, I really don't change my speed on a lawn machine, so I don't use the hydrostatics for my lawn mower. I've got two running, two broken. EXCELLENT machine. DLC once told me, once you go Hydrostatic, you never go back... well I don't know if it's totally true, but I prefer the hydrostatics for everything I do. I am still building the old manual transmissions for collecting and a loader tractor. I'm afraid the loader controls will conflict with the hydrostatic controls too much. Good find, good luck.
IronPony Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Wish I could find a hydro heavy frame somewhere within a few hundred miles of me. Even if it was not a GREAT deal like you found.:( Dan aka IronPony
PatrickE Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 I would say get rid of it while you can! I can come by and haul it away for you, and give you your $50 back!
RenegadeJ Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 I also live in Ohio and it would be a short drive for me to haul it away for you. I would probably leave couple hundred dollars for your trouble.
MPH Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Dan, you need to read "the fence Post". It's a Colo. farm equip type flier. Also, ther is a simplicity dealer in the Ft Collins area, think it was Longmount, but when I went there with my brother a few years ago I couldn't tell when I left one city and got into the next. Might be a good huntting grounds for you.

cahickm2 Posted July 23, 2006 Author Posted July 23, 2006 Got her running today. Its awesome. The hydro is so smooth. I had to borrow the carb & tank off of my 2112. The carb is soaking in the parts washer. and the tank is being painted. But this this is sweet.
