RedbarnRick Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Hi guys, Anyone here know of a supplier for the relief valve kit and charge relief valve kits for the sundstrand pumps? I checked Jack's and nearly choked at the price, I have two pumps I need to convert to ported for implements.
HubbardRA Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Rick, When I put the hydrolift on my 716H, I think the parts were about $38 from a Simplicity dealer. I didn't buy a new cap, I drilled the second cap to match the one that originally had the check valve in it. All I bought was another check valve, the heavier spring needed to power the attachments and a shim kit. Yes that is expensive for those few small parts, but it was worth it to get the hydrolift working. Do you need me to post the diagram of the parts that I changed. I think I still have that.
RedbarnRick Posted July 23, 2006 Author Posted July 23, 2006 Hi Rod, I would appreciate the diagram and more info on how you drilled the cap and why, both of the hydros are not ported so I have only the tech sheet showing the parts to see whats needed. The Charge relief kit was $72 and the other was around $35 this is a huge savings going your way, and may I ask where you ordered yours from. Thanks for sharing the info
HubbardRA Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Hope this helps. To see what I mean by drilling the cap, you will need to remove the cap that is on top, where the existing relief valve is. This cap has the bore in it. Then remove the cap on the side of the unit. That one has no bore. Just drill a hole in it to the same depth as the other one. If I recall correctly the pressure going to the implements should be between 675 and 730 psi, and the pressure to the tranny should be 175 to 250 psi. I can't seem to locate the document that I read this from. The adjustment is done by shimming the relief springs. I was also told that you should not go beyond the maximum specified pressure because it could cause the housing to crack where the passages go thru it. You should really check and set the pressures with a gauge, although I didn't do that on mine. Mine could use a little more pressure from the hydrolift, but I didn't want to crank it too high till I get a gauge to check it with.
RedbarnRick Posted July 24, 2006 Author Posted July 24, 2006 Beautiful Rod thanks for the info this is just what I needed.
