Sam, You're a glutton for punishment. Cubs are a PITA to work on. :D

I wish you'd have given a better discription of this in the header line as looking at that thing hurts my eyes.

Maybe if I painted it Olive Drab it might not be so hard on the eyes;) Whatta ya think?:D I have two of these that have been sitting here a few weeks. One runs the other runs and smokes. The Case is OK but its painfully slow in low and can barely go uphills in high. The Cubs have the Sundstrand and go quite fast, also have lots of pulling power and dont run away going down hills. I dont have any reservations about welding on or midifying a Cadet so I thought a guy could weld up a simple canopy frame with roof and mount holders on it for a rake, shovel and some other yard tools. Then you could just get on to go in the yard wherever the work is and already have the tools with Just thinking outloud.....

Do what you gotta do, Sam. At least it's not green.}:) You know, a Simplicity hood and fenders might fit nicely on that frame. Maybe a good disguise would be better than letting down all your faithful supporters. [:0]:D:D Cubs are good tractors, but as Roy said, hard to work on. I was given a Cub 129, but after looking it over closely, I gave it to an old guy who had a really old Cub and wanted a newer hydrostatic drive. Didn't hurt a bit to unload it at his house and drive away.;)

At least it's an older Cub and not one of the new one's! Two of my buddies bought new Cubs two years ago without asking me for my opinion first. I already had to help them with starting and carb issues. New one's seem very wimpy to me. Lots of plastic parts and the frame looks kind of thin as well. Best of luck...

Actually these 50 series are not so bad, not any more difficult than tearing down a 3012V or equivalent. In any case. the project is now abandoned. Theres some severe problems with the tranny I found when I got it running. so......its destined for ebay and the scrappers. However I saw another 1250 with a rear hitch kit on it in a yard with 5 foot tall weeds around it. Only thing is the owners not due to get out of prison for another year[:0]

I don't know Sam, seems to me a properly attached-up correct yellow tractor takes care of the need to haul shovels and rakes around:D:D

Next time Sam says " its the last one." We should post a calender, and place bets on what day he will "give in".
