Sid Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I just replaced pts, condensor and coil on my 620. It ran fine for about an hr. and then would'nt start. I used a tester and ck'd and there's no power at the + side of the coil. My ? is, is the stator/rectifier bad? It's absolutely dead no clicks, the needle on the guage does'nt even quiver. Also does anyone have or can direct me on where to get a shop manual for this tractor. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've got alot of projects planned and need my tractor.(lol)
wilm169 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 First of all check the battery for charge and the ground connections then look under the dash and see if a wire came off, there is a large post in one of the do it your self or tech tips that explains the charge system on them. Try putting in the MFG# in the manual box on the home page. It should be 1600304. You may have to use the simplicity #s that is 990954:D
D-17_Dave Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Check for a bad ign. switch. You didn't state whether or not the engine would still spin over when it dies. If it doesn't still spin, check the circut breaker on the frame near the connection at the front clutch. I also deleted your double post. If you post and allow the browser program to refresh itself it will return you back to the forum with your post added. If your click back into the browser it won't show your topic post so it appears you didn't do anything. No big deal, just thought I would let you know. BTW, welcome to the club.:)

Sid Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 After taking out some frustation with a sledgehammer on some concrete, I started digging around and found a loose wire on the ignition switch plug. All is well for the time being. GregC thanks for the manual download, I really appreciate it!!!!:D
