gtwygreg Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I just purchased a 73 Simplicity Sovereign 3416h and I want to restore it. I'm curious about what colors to use. The orange/red looks like Allis Chalmers color, is it? The hood and rims look like a light grayish color more than an almond, although it could just have weathered to be that color. I've done auto body work and would prefer a nice shiny industial enamel that I could shoot out of a paint gun. I want it nice and shiny and tough because I plan on usung the tracter to mow my lawn and of course show it off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Greg
Ketchamized Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 gtwygreg, Welcome to the club. It's a great place to get information. Here is a page that you can see a picture of the Sovereign 3416h new... As well as the specs: http://www.simpletractors.com/simplicity/new_in_1973/sovereign_specs.htm As for paint issues, I can't give you an answer, as I am still learning more about paint. But, if you searched threads from the past 3 days, there have been a lot of discussion on the subject. Some links are provided below about paint. Simplicity dealers still exist, and they sell some paint. But I'm not sure if they have your colors, specifically. Some paints were discontinued. Most guys here have brought paint samples to a paint store and had them make paint and add paint hardener. Best of luck!
