Another one saved from the scrap yard

Recommended Posts

Here are a couple of pictures of my Simplicity Sovereign 3415S tractor that I rescued from the scrap yard. I had gone to my friend's to buy the deck for $50 and he told me that he had sold the engine off the tractor and was going to scrap the remainder. I was quick to ask him if I could have it and he said yes!! I had to replace the BGB and cone clutch with spares that I had and fix a leak in the transmission. As you can see I also upgraded the engine to a Kohler KT17 twin that I had as a spare for my 7117 tractors. I can really understand why Simplicity lengthened the frame on later tractors to accommodate the twin cylinder engines. She runs great and mows great too.
