sickle bar replacement parts

Recommended Posts

Here is the info I promised in the other posting about the interchange parts for the 46" sickle bars. The machine I was looking at is a JARI Monarch, model C-90159, 36" walk behind mower. See their website for pics of it. The center gaurds (JARI p/n 101710) are interchangeable with ours, and list at $30. They are cast just a little different on the top, which is fine for everyday use, but not close enough for a restoration. The knives are exactly like my NOS knives. They are JARI p/n 102530 and list at $2.55 each. It looks like you can get smooth or serrated knives. I have pics of the Simplicity parts sitting next to the JARI parts, but I can't get them to post here - not exactly Mr. Computer here..... If anyone wants pics, I can pass them along, but be patient - I can't get to the computer everyday. Tim

I don't know about the rivets - guess I didn't think about those. My guess is that a farm store or ag dealer would be able to match something up for our Simplicity sickle mowers. If the JARI were cheap enough, I would maybe just order a couple to see. John - PM me your email and I will get you the pics - they are a pretty big file size and I can't get them posted here. I have a couple of sickle bars, and have just been cautious about using them until I can find either spare original parts, or find something like this that can be used up and not worry about it. I hate to wreck good original old parts that are not easily or cheaply found. Tim
