How to adjust tiller

Recommended Posts

johnmonkey
Hello, I am in the process of tilling my back yard after some minor construction. There were some ruts and clumped clay. I used my tiller on my AC 710 6 speed. The tiller gets up to speed and will bog down and nearly stop. I have to lift the tiller up often to stop the tiller from bogging down. The only thing I see to adjust the belt tension is the spring on the bale assembly. Is there another way to adjust the belt? I will post pictures later (the girls left the camera on and the battery is dead. Thanks for any help. JH PS the belt may be another clue, I did not see a simplicity logo on it, so it may be an after market belt.

thanks Maynard, I thought that was where to adjust it, I called it a bale instead of the correct term-set collar and rod guide. I think it is a non-Simplicity belt problem. JH
