I was gave a PowerTech tractor and the threads on the block for the muffler are stripped. It has a 12 horse briggs IC on it is there an easy way to fix it. When I get it fixed I'm planning on selling or parting it out so I have some Simple tractor money. Thanks for any help. George

I had the same problem with a 11.5 B&S I/C,i got a 1in. pipe flange at home depot, used it as a guide, drilled and tapped it in position, bolted it to the block and used a 1 in. nipple to attach the muffler to. has been working fine for 3 yrs. cost around 3 bucks.

Thanks for the info. I will get it fixed this coming week end. The guy I got it from said his mechanic say it was tired but I wired the muffler in place and mowed 1.5 acres and the briggs never even grunted. The tractor on the other hand is a little bit rough.
