Weak spark in b212

Recommended Posts

Put new head gasket while i was doing that i found a large mouse nest inside the flywheel cover so I removed it. Put it back together tried to start it it occasionaly fires or runs for about 30 seconds. Went through a list of procedures then I thought well maybe the spark is weak. So removed the plug and turned it over. Weak spark, the problem I have is that the tractor has one of those solid state ignitions what could cause this to happen?

Mouse nest in the shroud, may have a rusty magnet on the flywheel. Clean the magnet with some sand paper and then useing a damp rag remove any rust sticking to the magnet. While your in there clean the magneto and set the air gap to the flywheel. If it's still weak then swap the plug, then trash the ing. modual and put points back on it.

Mat, wasn't that B212 converted to a coil ignition? Does a coil ignition still use the magneto?

Rod, Thanks - Sounds like Mat fixed his ignition (described in another post).
