I just did an engine swap on the b-10. I put an engine in from a 3410 .What I dont understand is that there ar no wires that go to the points?? I had no spark to begin with when I first tried to get the motor running before I decided to do the swap After adjusting the points I got spark and got the motor running ,also I could see some spark at the point when I was turning it over,All my oher tractors have two wires going to the points one from the key switch and one from the mag, could someone have converted this motor to an electronic ignition?? Thanks I hooked the wire coming from the mag to the key it all works like it should am I missing something?

If there are no wires to the points then you either have an electronic trigger hidden on the engine with a wire running from the coil to the trigger or the coil has been changed to a magnetron.

"also I could see some spark at the point when I was turning it over" --- If there is no wire to the points how did it have a spark at the points (no power)? "Thanks I hooked the wire coming from the mag to the key it all works like it should am I missing something?" --- The mag only needs one wire from it as long as it goes to both the points and the kill/key switch. I had one that, at the little block, a wire also went into the points. It could be someone but a magnetron coil on it like "gregc" said but I still question how you would have had a spark at the points.
