DanD
I have a 1974 7016H Sovereign, Mfg #1690006. According to the parts book, there is supposed to be a fan mounted to the pulley (and a shield) that blows air over the hydro unit to cool it. My father bought this tractor in 1986 and it has run at least that long the way you see it here in the picture with no apparent problems. Should I worry about this? The tractor only mows grass in the summer and runs a snowblower in the winter, so there are no big loads like a plow or blade put on the hydro unit. Also, I see people mention two different brands of hydro pumps. Which one is this? Thanks in advance.
UCD
It is a SundStrand. It should have the shield and fan in place to cool transmission.

HubbardRA
That is a Sunstrand hydro. Used on the Later Simp7000/AC700 tractors and the Simp7100/AC900 tractors. When I first got my AC716H, someone had taken the fan and shroud off of it. It is a real pain to change the drive belt with them in place, probably why they were removed. I got a new fan and shroud from a Simplicity dealer and installed them. Mine is still running fine, several years later, and has been a real workhorse.
