Guest Posted October 23, 2006 Looks like that machine is getting really well setup. Using a chain has no down pressure except the weight of the blade; great idea and perhaps a different feel. The use of the spring lift bar or the solid lift bar; both have their various advantages. I like the solid lift bar. Use of the hydrolift will actually lift the front of the tractor off the ground. Robert Kehoe 0 Posted October 23, 2006 i NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT USING A CHAIN FOR THE LIFT
Mat Perucci 0 Posted October 23, 2006 I had the lift bar from before... It broke, i fixed it and it broke again. So Im stuck with a chain which still is kinda effective. Im also getting the front wheels about 15'' off the ground. Also got my hydro lift awaiting my new ram and well installing it consumes a bit of time.

wminmi 0 Posted October 23, 2006 i've got chain on the 700 for the plow blade....feels weird compared to a "rod" but definately digs with just the weight of the blade itself. Takes some getting used to....

Bunky 3 Posted October 24, 2006 I have used a chain before on a Blower set up.. It works pretty good, Nice Outfit..
portuncia 0 Posted October 24, 2006 Looks just like my tractor, I like the chain idea, I have a straigh arm and for some things its difficult to work on ground that is not level. I use the blade to clean out the horse stalls and find it works better if I go in and back out, dragging the blade to muck out the stall, but using a chain just might work better as it will allow the blade, hopefully, to ride over the bumps and stay in contact with the ground. I just might have to try that. Any input on that application is appreciated.
Mat Perucci 0 Posted October 24, 2006 The nice thing about using the chain is that you can adjust the height with one bolt. it tends to be a little better than the lift rod on bumpy areas but on level theres really no difference except for the fact that you can apply more pressure. also, my arm is sore from lifting that thing all day sounds like the right time to put the hydro lift back in there.
