Riding Mower Freebee!

Recommended Posts

Ok, On the Milwaukee Craigslist there is a "free" section. Well, I got a Ward lawn mower off of it! The tractor was free, but the engine was $15. It is a Montgomery Ward Garden Mark Turf Track. It seems kind of rare, I can't find info on t anywhere! Here are the Craigslist pics... I had one just like that. I used it at my cabin, mowed mostly pine cones. It had a 4hp on it and it worked pretty good, also was a great mosquito fogger. My motor said it was made in 1965, my brother-in-law also had one and the only difference was his was a 5hp and a different gearbox. Have fun with your little rider.

Mark, It looks like there's a great potiental in it being a go-kart. Put on some big 10hp engine on it and take off. :) That's what I'd do if I had that... Nice... :)

Mark, I have a rear end for a Monkey Wards but i'll need pics of yours and axle end to end measurements to see if mine will fit your wards. I have no use for the thing so let me know.

Drag a lawn roller behind it and you'll get the stripes.

Well, picking it up this Saturday and getting parts for it from ZippoVarga in a few weeks. I just hope to have it back in working shape by the time snow builds up. I also have a small set of tires and tire chains that should fit really nicely on the back and maybe even a home made blade!

Hey Mark, just picked up the same exact mower yesterday, freebee!. Got it from a girl that works for me. It was her grandfather's. All original and in pretty good shape. Her husband said he had it running last year. I gave it 2 pulls and the pull cord snapped. Good luck with yours.
