JMAC 1 Posted November 3, 2006 Can anyone tell me what the collapsed length of the top link is supposed to be,center to center of the eyes?I have an aftermarket one and was wondering. Thanks,Jerry
babablacksheep 7 Posted November 4, 2006 Hopefully what you have is and adjustable top link (threaded on each end with a pin to turn it with in the middle). If so, you will wind up adjusting it for each implement and situation. There is no specific collapsed or extended length. If it is category 0, it will do fine. For plowing, adjust the link until the bottom of the plow is level at plowing depth. For bushoging, adjust until the mower is level at the desired cutting height. JMAC 1 Posted November 5, 2006 Basil, I understand all that, all i want to know is how long the original is in length.I have a tractor that takes Cat 1 and they come in different lengths.
PGL 449 Posted November 5, 2006 The "original" for the PowerMax is category 0, is that the length you are looking for? I'd measure mine for you, but I keep the tractor about 120 miles away and it is put away for the winter.
StanD 2 Posted November 5, 2006 I beleive the original is 11 inches center of pin to center of pin collapsed, the longer version is 13 inches. As for use the longer works better for the tillers but the shorter is required for 1 bottom plow to get proper angle. Best to have both for all the different attachments. They are only about $13.00-15.00 each. StanD
