Bolt hole to lock front axle pivot ?

My B-1 has a hole on the left side of the front axle (looking at the front of the tractor)I haven't seen this before until Elon posted pics. of his newest find ,A B-10,My B-10 dosen't have the hole in the axle, Dose any one have the answer to this ? What was it for?

None of mine have the hole. Maybe the previous owner drilled it.
