yoke-to-flywheel removal

Recommended Posts

Simplicity314
Hi...trying to remove this yoke, 320000 series 16 h.p. There is no nut in front of the yoke, only the end of a solid shaft. Do I use a puller? Thanks in advance.

Jim, A picture would help, since right now I don't really know which part you are talking about.

Before I gothrough the torture of trying to upload a picture here, I'll try one more description...It's the yoke on the flywheel side of a horz. shaft where the driveshaft bolts onto. It is just in front of the flywheel pully forthe belt coming off the s/g. There is a pulley on it and two bolt holes to bolt the driveshaft to. When you pull the engine it is attached to the flywheel screen.

In other words you are talking about the spacer between the flywheel and the driveshaft. That should come right off. First of all just try tapping the sides of it lightly with a hammer. It should come right off. If not, then you can use a puller. I have never had any problems getting the spacers off. If you are talking about the pulley that is used with the starter-generator, then you must remove the screen to get to the bolts that hold it on.
